METACARPAL ANEURYSMAL BONE CYST, A RARE LOCALIZATION IN CHILDREN: ABOUT A CASE

An aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign lesion that often arises eccentrically from the metaphysis of long bones and which can expand tissue as it grows. It rare lesion, frequently appearing in lower limb. Localizations on hands feet are rarer limited to tubular bones.We report case 2-years-old girl initially admitted for hard dorsal immobile slightly painful swelling 5th metacarpal left hand, didnt limit metacarpo-phalyngeal joint mobility was evolving since 4 months. The standard hand x ray CT-Scan showed central lytic multiseptatedmetaphyseal-diaphyseal with well-defined appearance, expansile but without extending beyond cortices. biopsy confirmed diagnosis an surgically curetted then auto-grafted.A follow-up 1 year filling cystic cavity remodeling resulted almost normal clinical appearance patients hand.A location ABC rare. performance fundamental confirm before any treatment undertaken.
